Rejoice:

You know how how we think God cares more about us being obedient than anything else? Like, He definitely loves us making sure we aren’t overwhelmed with sin, that we are walking in righteousness, that we are focusing on Him. Right?! That’s His desire, for His children to be obedient. That’s why we spend SOOO much time assuring we are doing the right thing, right? That’s why churches spend so much time talking about how to live right, because that’s one of the most important things! God wants us to learn how to listen to the Spirit and be conformed to Jesus’ image, getting rid of all of our sinfulness. We must focus on this over all things in our life as that’s God’s desire… right?
What if I told you that God cares about something way more than our “righteousness?” What if I told you that God rejoices over something ELSE far more than you living like Jesus. In fact, you could be perfect and this other thing is more important. Are you interested? We all struggle with being obedient (when it comes to not sinning) so wouldn’t it be cool if there was something else you could do that He loves far more? Wouldn’t it be cool if I told you about something that would outshine your mistakes, your inability to be a “good” person, and could truly put a smile on God’s face?
Well I can’t so suck it up and start letting God fix your life. He cares about your righteousness more than anything else. WRONG! (insert buzzer sound here) Scripture tells us (in Luke 15:7) that “there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.” Wow…. more rejoicing over one sinner coming to repentance than 99 people who are living perfectly…. God cares more about you sharing the Gospel than your righteousness. Maybe you can see now why God may not be doing what you want Him to in your life. Perhaps you’re missing the biggest thing… You cannot trade righteousness for evangelism. You cannot forego evangelizing for becoming more righteous. God cares about that, but that’s secondary to evangelizing.
Let me make this clear: praying and striving for righteousness is important… but praying and striving to bring the Gospel to other’s is FAR superior and more important to the Lord. You’re saved and He is taking care of you. Many are locked in prison and have no source of hope. You need to go and share. Pronto.
Respond:
Spend 1 minute thanking God for your salvation! Then spend 2-3 minutes praying for God to show you opportunities for evangelizing!! Also petition for a desire to evangelize.
