Respond:
Lord, I pray that You guide me today as I open Your Word. I pray that Your Word does not fall on infertile soil today. Rather, Holy Spirit I pray you enrich my heart and produce in me fertile soil so the Word can be received, nourished, and produce roots. Allow me to be fruitful with the seed You provide Lord. Amen.

Colossians 3:16 | NIV Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly,” as we prepare to meet together tomorrow and having talked yesterday about the Gospel I thought this was appropriate to read. Paul challenges us to have the Gospel dwell in us richly. That means we aren’t just to be aware of the Good News, but it is to exude from us.We are called to radiate the Gospel, having it flow from us, coming out in “psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit.”
When a new song comes out or we hear an old classic those lyrics begin to cycle around in our mind and we sing it all day. In some cases we end up singing these songs for days on end! This is what Paul is suggesting the Gospel should be like. We should be reminding ourselves daily of this great news and then extending that into “psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit!” We are to be so excited about these truths that they come out in different spontaneous songs of praise!
Notice that the psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit are considered ways of teaching one another in this verse. The things we are singing and praising about are ways in which we are teaching our children and one another! We worship like this together so that the Word CAN dwell richly, and deeply within us. Our songs help to implant truths and bring them up in times of struggling. It gives a different life to verses we otherwise would struggle memorizing. Praise gives us a different tactic in defending our minds.
Respond:
God, help me EVEN in times of struggle to be singing praises of You. Help me to have Your Word dwell richly in my heart and be evidenced in worshiping. Give me a lingering joy and meditation on Your Word. Cause it to invade my mind and be stuck like a commercial jingle that repeats over and over. Barricade Your Word within my mind. Amen

We’ve just read how we are to teach each other from the Word that is dwelling richly in our hearts. Find time to remind whoever you are talking to each day during this isolation about God’s Word. Worship God by singing little choruses that glorify Him throughout your day.
