I am trying to keep these shorter for those of you that are looking for that. If you’re someone who wants a LONGER devotion lemme know (leave a comment). I think the way it will work is just… every day will be different lol. One day may be short, one day long, one day super deep, another day simple like today 🙂 Enjoy!
11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
It’s interesting to see that different groups of people that Christ gave to the Church… Yet we have Churches with ONE of these… we put a “pastor” into place and we hope they will be an evangelist, an apostle (missionary), teacher, prophet, etc. We must realize that each of us are gifted in some way and our churches need to have a group of leaders, not one. Churches are meant to have a group of believers working together for the equipping of the saints.
We need to realize:
1)you may have a gift you’re not using because it isn’t being used in the modern flawed system of “church” 🤮
2)a pastor is ONE part of what the Church needs
3)we cannot expect our pastors to do everything.
Look, the Spirit gives gifts to believers. Are you a believer? If so, then you have been given a gift for God to use to build up His Kingdom!! The gifts aren’t limited to the ones in this passage, but from just this small list we should realize there’s something massively wrong with our church system today.
I am going to make another post (perhaps tomorrows devotion) on what each of those above gifts are.
Spend 1-2 minutes thanking God for the gifts He gives us… then spend 2-3 minutes asking God to show you where you fit into this crazy thing. I will say, in my experience, my spiritual gifts are right in line with the things I cannot naturally do.
There’s no better way to sere if you’ve an evangelist 😛 GO share the Gospel! 😀 Maybe talk with your pastor… find out which of those gifts he holds, and see what he thinks YOU may hold… work together to see where you fit 🙂 The most precious gifts are NOT exhibited on Sunday mornings. Just saying. Even as a preacher Sunday morning is low on the list of duties that are most significant.
I wanna keep putting this out there though-
I would love to get you connected with another believer who is similar to you, it doesn’t have to be me and it surely doesn’t mean you have to attend our services nor even live in this area. We have people all over the country that are connected and helping one another. However, I cannot help you if you do not make your need known. Please email me: and let me help you get connected with someone to help you grow!
