Rejoice: This is the whole album… in one video so don’t think I’m suggesting it ALL Right now 🙂 unless you have time!
10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
We read these verses in a time where selfishness and focusing on ones own desires is rampant. We have seen a man brutally choked to death and the only thing we can think about is our own preferences and desires. We are a nation so focused on our political perspective or “owed rights” that we forget Christ saying whatever we do to the least of these is done unto God! He measures our actions towards the least likely humans. He doesn’t observe us in a controlled, safe environment but observes how we treat those who have little worth. SO here we are as a nation… how are we doing? Let’s not act like the second half of this verse says “only to those who belong to the family of believers.” God has called us to be abundantly loving to everyone around us, and here Paul reminds us of that. God has ordered you to be genuinely loving towards all people, let’s actually see if we are doing that…
Lord I am selfish, and when I am not selfish it is only towards those who have special worth to me. Help me to pour out love on all people, not just the convenient ones… I need You.
This verse is all about relating. Start loving on people, and choose someone who is completely unconnected to you, or someone who is the LAST person you’d want to be loving towards.
