1 I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
As we look at our life, even with all the sufferings, do we recognize all the wonderful deeds? The enemy wants to pull our eyes from the wonderful deeds God has done and trick us into not telling the world of His Glory! David should be used as a beautiful example of a man who suffered yet glorified God. He was looked down upon within his family, spent the beginning of his royalty running from the former king, was chastised for his passion for the Lord, endured many mistakes, lost a child, experienced much warfare… his life was thoroughly filled with ups and downs. However, we read through the Psalms and see him give God praise right after a chapter of lamenting, and usually even within the same chapter.
We should be assuring that we don’t overlook all the great things God has done for us, and assure we are praising Him for these gifts. Our testimony is so powerful. This is what people can relate to. A large mistake many christians make is that we will talk about our suffering but not talk about the good times. There are often many more good times versus bad but they don’t get the same lip service.
The stories in Scripture are often read and skimmed over, nor simply never heard… however when your neighbor knows you, sees your suffering, and if that’s all they hear then they don’t know the whole story. When they see you praise God for the good times too they will see that the good outweighs the bad.
Let us be billboards for our King. Let us be living, walking advertisements for God. Matthew 5: For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. We should make sure we display to the world this principle. We should make sure we are as verbal about our wonderful blessings as we are about the struggles AND when we are in the struggles we should assure we are praising God for we know He is good no matter the circumstance. My lovely wife once said: “everyone knows life sucks, it sucks for everyone… but with God at least we have hope.”
Show the world your hope.
Spend 1-2 minutes thanking God for the good times, the blessings, and the opportunities to see God moving in your life. Then spend 2-3 minutes asking Him to help you truly display His glory. Ask Him to help you remember to praise Him. Perhaps you need help seeing the good things He has done, pray for Him to show you! 🙂
If you didn’t see this coming… dunno. lol Your relate for today is to actually tell people about the good things happening in your life. If you’re ashamed of the blessings and they serve no purpose in glorifying God then you cannot expect them to abound right? Your mouth can be useful for more than just eating… though eating is great. Open it up, let is share about God’s glory! 🙂
