Weekends can either be the time we withdraw from everyone and take a break from all things leading us to veg out on the couch. Or they can be times of refreshing in which we withdraw from most aspects of life so that we can refocus on Christ, reorient our lives and spiritual walk. Weekends can be the most fruitful time of the week leaving us SUPER motivated Monday after experiencing spiritual breakthroughs on a whole new level!
I would love to consistently use our Saturdays to prepare our hearts and minds for Sunday worship. It would be such a hugely beneficial spiritual practice to recharge fully Saturdays and then be able to pour out on one another Sundays. If we implement this now we will see SIGNIFICANT growth in just a few months.
If we are honest with ourselves we can admit that MOST people are not growing significantly throughout the week. For most people there is little to NO Biblical input throughout the week (in comparison to other things we do). SO I think if we just focus on assuring Saturday is our personal Biblical input day and Sunday is our gathered worship we will see consistent growth!
Lord prepare my heart for worship tomorrow. Refocus my mind, orienting it towards You fully. Help me to use today as an evaluation time, looking at my life and seeing what needs to be adjusted. Bring my mind and heart into unity with You. Help me to use Saturdays as a a weekly litmus test of my spiritual walk, a weekly time to reflect and see if I am being obedient. In this process help me to be prepared to pour into my brothers and sisters. Keep me from forsaking the gathering and instead using this time to come together with each person of my church family and help to sharpen and encourage them. Bless our time tomorrow in a unique way, giving us great revelation on who You are which sparks significant spiritual growth and freedom!
12 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; 13 planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.”
Again Lord, I petition for my mind to be purified from the things which hold me captive this week. I pray for clarity going into Sunday. Give me the ability to use my weekends for Spiritual growth and Biblical change every week. Give me to motivation to do this consistently. I love You and thank You so much for Your involvement in my life! Amen.
