Outline:
The reminder to Relate
We are born with a desire to fellowship which is attacked almost immediately.
The Difference
Our God is different from the false gods. He pushes a relationship with Him and with others. He desires community because He Himself is community. Yet it is one of the giant gaps being created in the Church today.
The Duty
If we are at war we need an army around us, a brotherhood/sisterhood which will stand with us against the attacks of the enemy. We are in a war and we are called to stand with one another for a variety of reasons: growth, protection, endurance, motivation, and more.
The Delivered
Those who want to experience deliverance on Earth must abide together! Those who want to share in bringing deliverance to others must seek fellowship
The Dilemma
We all want to be known, to know others, to fellowship, to have a family, to make a difference in the world but we are too afraid that when we actually push into fellowship we may be denied and feel rejected. So we remain in the torment and struggle of the world where we know we suffer instead.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 ESV Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
